How to Get the Perfect Nonsurgical Nose Job

September 7, 2018

As plastic surgery has become more commonplace over the past several decades, rhinoplasty has risen in prominence as one of the most popular procedures. Even those who wouldn’t dream of having any other kind of cosmetic operation have queued up for what is commonly referred to as a ‘nose job’.

Like any major surgery, surgical rhinoplasties come with a number of risks and drawbacks. The expense, recovery time and overall palaver of having an operation have held many back from having a nose job – no matter how much they want one.

But now, thanks to advances in aesthetic medicine, getting rhinoplasty can be as easy as popping into a clinic on your lunch break. Unlike surgical nose jobs, there is no downtime with a nonsurgical nose job. Sound too good to be true?

As so many SISU patients have found out for themselves, it’s not.

Woman with a perfect nose

Here’s how it works: Using sophisticated injection techniques, a doctor places injectable fillers at precise points in the nasal region of the face. These dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance our own bodies manufacture on their own, and are the same ones used to clear wrinkles, erase nasolabial fold grooves, eliminate neck lines, diminish marionette lines, volumise sunken undereyes, remove dark circles, get rid of neck bands, and help you get the perfect pout with lip fillers.

A highly skilled doctor is able to sculpt a new nose for you by injecting the filler and using his or her hands to shape the nose into its most flattering, refined proportions. This includes correction of bumps, lumps, curves, and other abnormalities that detract from the overall appearance. From facial asymmetry and a perfected profile to overall shape and scale, your dream nose can be created in 15 minutes or less.

How can you get the perfect nonsurgical nose job for yourself? Here are our doctors’ top tips.

Choose your provider carefully.

Like all injectable treatments, injectable rhinoplasty should be performed by medical doctors only. Do not consider providers whose injections are administered by nurses, dentists, beauticians, aestheticians, or anyone but a qualified medical doctor.

Do your research

Of the medical doctors you find who offer nonsurgical nose jobs, vet their experience and qualifications. Look for those who have spent years refining their treatments, kept up on the most innovative techniques, and even trained other aesthetic doctors in how to deliver the perfect nonsurgical nose job to patients.

The doctor you choose should also be registered with the Irish Medical Council and have full coverage from an insurer specialising in cosmetic and aesthetic practitioners. (For example, SISU Aesthetic Clinic is fully insured by Hamilton Fraser Insurance, which has 20 years’ experience vetting such specialists.)

Have an in-depth consultation

Only go to a provider who will sit down with you for a complete consultation, no rushing, free of charge. In addition to fully explaining the treatment and answering all of your questions, the doctor should also ask for your detailed input on what you are trying to achieve with your nose job. For example, do you want to smooth a bump, eliminate deep grooves, align contours, achieve overall symmetry, or get a certain shape? Give the doctor as much information as you can.

Show and tell

Bring photos as examples of the look you’re after. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.

Insist on a bespoke nose

A nose that looks great on someone else’s face might not be the perfect fit for yours. Never believe anyone who tells you there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to injectable rhinoplasty. Every face is different, and the ultimate goal is to give you the nose that will make you look like the best version of yourself. The shape of your face, overall facial contours and particulars of your features all influence what will be the most flattering look for you.

For example, Meghan Markle’s nose – one of the most popular with aesthetic treatment patients over the past year – is ideal for her bone structure and placement of her other features. But that doesn’t mean the same exact nose should be reproduced on your face, which has its own unique traits. Embrace your own beauty; trying to mimic someone else’s will not give you the best results.

Be real

Manage your expectations. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty can achieve amazing results for most people, from correcting a droopy tip and straightening a crooked nose to erasing lines and eliminating bumps. But if your nose is simply much too large for your face, filler won’t make it smaller. If the bridge of your nose is naturally very wide, fillers cannot make it more narrow.

Be gentle

After your injectable nose job, be careful not to squeeze or otherwise touch the nose for several days. The fillers need time to set, so blowing your nose, for example, could lead to a misshapen result. The hands-off approach will ensure your doctor’s artful sculpting gives you the perfect shape you envision.

Woman with a perfect nose

Nonsurgical rhinoplasty is one of the most innovative aesthetic treatments to have been developed in recent years. The results it can achieve for one’s appearance have to be seen to be believed. By taking the treatment seriously, doing your homework and ensuring you are being treated by a specialist doctor with experience in injectable rhinoplasty, you are well on your way to the perfect nose you’ve always wanted.
